Hinckley Hooligans Flyball Team was founded by two flyball enthusiasts Barbara Bunday and Margaret Cousins.
Barbara and Margaret have been involved with the sport of Flyballing for about 5 years and started competing, shortly followed by their daughters Katie and Charlotte. First belonging to a team run outside of Leicestershire and then in January 2008 breaking away to form their own team together with their younger family members. The team became known as the Hinckley Hooligans Flyball Team and is a member of the British Flyball Association (BFA).
Barbara became the nominated Team Captain responsible for organising all the competition registrations and the allied administration associated with competitions. Margaret copes with being the Treasurer and other administration requirements. Both are involved with the training aspects at all levels.
2008
The Hooligans had a brilliant first year, with a lot of support from other teams. Having competed at many tournaments during the year they were rewarded by coming top of their division at the British Flyball Championships in August. During the summer they took part in Burbage Carnival demonstrating the sport to members of the public. Both dogs and handlers had a great time and hope to do it again next summer taking along new members as well. Through spring and summer 2008 Theresa Franklin from Theresa Franklin Dog Training Club trained with the team. Theresa is studying for her Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training and needed to compete with a team in flyball. The Hinckley Hooligans were glad to help. We had a great time. Well done to Theresa and Copper. To visit Theresa’s website to find out what classes she has on offer then visit www.dogs-theresafranklin.co.uk
